I wasn’t supposed to survive.
I was supposed to go with the family and crossover but The Dread Ambushed the fleet as we hit Riverpoint and I sent everyone off ship and was going to go when they needed defenders.
Ships on the line that were stopping the Dread from coming through.
I had built the Eternal Warship The Dauntless as a heavy battle cruiser with multiple layered sections and I had borrowed technology that Orion had invented and used Pearl drives to make Drone bots/ engineers, fighter pilots and drone pilots and every member of the crew replaced by droids that look like Eternal Guard armour suits and literally, I built them to wear the armor so we can have extra suits and all the gear.
The Dauntless was equipped with Armor and whole turret and battle sections that were just that, power systems, weapons, shields and heavy armor and boosters.
All like armed layers and as the enemy pairs us down more power goes to our systems in shields, Antigrav boosters and maneuvering points and ideas no one has tried before and as we drop armored sections we get faster and tougher and we lasted until the last of the Journey went through and we dropped as much mines and drones and deadly ordinance as we had and we jumped out.
I Jumped us out in an act of crazy and I used one of the first experiment d-platforms and I linked the ship and it and us and I took the strain and I d-shifted jumped us out and to “The Island.”
The Island is a large Asteroid that Tia built and magiced and the others so I had a secret lab and shipyard. Rory stole it actually from Adam and it was one of his outsourced labs and they learned a lot from it and I got a Hangar and shipyard that was all mine but was Towable by ships and jumpable after we installed drives so I could work and travel with them.
And I grabbed every ship that was left within range of the Tractor system and I took them with me.
The ship took care of me and the ship’s AI turned on and I was in a coma for months as the survivors hunkered down and started trying to hide us and we were lucky from the start as we had a few Everlasting Templars or Paladins on those ships as that last line group.
So they had access to magic and An Everlasting woman that was pretty scarred up and a fighting mage from their own war called Lara took command and used everything they had for quite a while in hiding us.
Turns out she was one of “Deans” rebels and came out of retirement to save her people. She was also very good with knives and a sword and she wasn’t a knight.
Then they made food and made as much food aeroponics as they could and We had some replicators and a few other Everlasting that instead of dying at the loss of their families and worlds and in a few cases their bonds and their ones they stayed with us until the end fight.
And after they made sure that they taught what they could pass on and they were going to fight as long as they could and some stayed to defend and some left with safeguarding mindwiping spells and they left fighting as they travelled as far as they could from us and until they knew they were going to fall and then they’d self destruct.
Final Strike Magic.
Lead them away, as far as they can and take out as many as you can by any means and then at the end as many as you can and then…then they’ll have done more than right by their gods and losses and would pass on to their afterlives.
I recovered enough to get us moving very carefully and quietly and I hid us for quite awhile in a violent Starcluster that had super intense grav forces and made worse by Two pulsars that agitate the gravity wells and it basically boils up subspace into a storm of heavy turbulence and Magic comes into play as we hide in there and we use wards to turn that force into energy like a tidal dam.
Years we worked at the magic and the physics and me going from memories of Chrissianna and I figured out how to build a TDC and there were so many calculations it took me years.
The test rooms became compost and waste and letting things do their thing and That let us use seeds we had and start making farms and homes.
I made the Beacon.
There’s only a few races here and I use them, the feeling of them and the feelings they had of peoples they knew and we used protection magic and stealth magic and pearl manipulation and made a Nav beacon only those races can hear… like a private frequency just for them.
It was a can we, well we tried and then three years later two very scared Everlasting ships hailed out at us and they had been ambushed in the evac and lost command crew and someone jumped them out of the ambush by panic and desperation pushing their magic past where they could.
Slowly the most desperate of survivors of those people found us too and we send people out and incorporate their ships and sometimes we snag Asteroids and rogue ice comets and it’s still hard going but we were surviving and then three of those Deathwatch Everlasting that went out of thirty came back with survivors in tow and ships and anything not nailed down by the Dread and they went out and back three more times before they simply didn’t come back.
We leave as the Dread get into a war with these other invading monsters that trigger off the Everlasting anti-demon powers and They’re not the void but monsters we have never heard of with star serpents that eat suns.
I know we enraged both of them when we came out and we portalled out by Seeking Spell to where neither followed us.
Draxx Space.
Well the space they came from in our universe.
The Draxx just eat the humanoid life force and wipe out sentients that resist but they didn’t value technology less than their own and whatever they are they made the systems they wiped out have this weird vibe that neither these new things or the Dread go near.
They killed everyone and sucked them dry and the Everlasting said all the magic is gone, drained but all the lesser tech, the resources, plants, animals… they don’t eat.
We pass through and most of us were like never again and we took what we could.
I leave me only beacons here and build flexi-gates and this place doesn’t hit me like others because of the way I am.
I’ll come back and salvage if it’s safe.
We followed this strange place until we found shattered planets and moons and what was left of the System lords worlds that tried opening a gate to raid another realm and encountered the Draxx.
This place is on the edge of the known Eternalverse and so remote that we barely encounter anything until we get to a few overlooked worlds as nothing was here during those wars and we kind of ride that edge for a long time before we find a few places, mining here, water there, grass and water and air here, ect just far enough out too miss the purge mostly by developing after.
We land on some and build, homestead, store resources and ready to run and we get to were we’re rebuilding ships, gear, armour and living on shore as long as we can.
I keep my ship but land and in a good mining area and settle my ship and we land actually at a shore near the minerals and light jungle and there’s sea life and the first century was hunkering down waiting.
Invaders the other monsters seem wild released out here or lost and we can deal with those and Dreadships as we get better at hiding come less and less.
We settle in enough to grow and some of the civilian races with us the Zuug a short squat strong toad humanoids are short lived but good farmers with coastal shores and aquaculture and there’s more than enough food for them and others to start having children.
I repurpose my drones and get them into crews of surveys, mining, smelting and building more maintenance probe drones with multi-tools a tech skill cortex and we just make them rechargeable and they do the scut work like building parts and sensor sniper satellites and cloaking tech magic ones as we’re refining the experimental stuff we had from the Journey where the Everlasting invented it.
The Than start breeding as well as They’re space grasshoppers, a little cuteish looking and low grav dwellers but expert farmers in molds, spores, and things like that and were actually very good at biotech in growing lichens off our biowastes that made paper or tasted like vegetables or more… I get the droids building tools and processing machines so we can make paper, cloth, bio-fuels, and refine things like fire logs and getting others set up to make their own…
I build a very large hall and fill it with tools and assistants, teaching droids and cortex’s to teach and be coms and I make flex gates and travel between resources fast, easy, efficiently and then settle in my ship and design and build.
I learned magic as tech magic blending it with my tekani gifts and that’s honestly to build new things, invent things and then I made more TDC’s inside the my “Island.” and each one I build for Max time, set it up with foods for my tastes and make each one a shop.
I build a 3-D Nano-Printer and take the concept finer with TK making program written code like animation and program Sub-nano’s to be even smaller and I design optics to help me interface but I can move and build molecular structures and it’s a lot like replication tech magic but portable… in gauntlets.
Building it is one thing controlling it is another and getting good at it took a long time.
But I’m Eternal so there’s no problem like that and the TDC shops let me spend time in a day making weapons, tools, armour, shields, blasters and I set it up to be efficient.
I roll out of bed and sleep/eat ect in a TDC quarters, droid butler and barber. TDC office and answer messages, inquiries, settle disputes and all the annoying Summers Duty stuff and then minutes in each shop and getting each task done satisfies those mind itches and I then get to design. Midday I make myself go have lunch with the other leaders as a face to face and and deliver the things I built and today that’s this.
Temple of the Druid Ranger… I made a statue of their depictions as both leaning on the same tree as a plain earth well made ceramic statue for the altar and I turn it on and it’s pearl tech that gathers their faith and uses that as the just for that god frequency nothing else can hear or feel the people.
I chose this one since after generations here there are followers and the place is where what green magic is known gets taught and farming skills, hunting, wilderness it’s the biggest temple in the colonies and we have them because it was comfort for the people.
I felt it transmitting and I told the clerics and let them feel it and they had all those emotional reactions and I smile because they’re happy and I wasn’t expecting to run into an Everlasting I don’t recognize and excuse myself and head to build more.
(Druid Ranger)
It was like Bailey, that Bailey had a vision.
And when you looked, really looked there might be? Then it happened…you got a clear signal of faith… eternally secured?
A temple, faithful, people believing on stories and faith and built…
**It’s a working temple and green magic, temple guidance, farming, all the things you’d do to settle they did and are doing and now.. Now you’re connected… They’re been here a long time, it shows the temple is old a well used and just a handful of people built the start including… Darius Summerhall passes you excusing himself trim beard, long hair, dressed in fleet clothes and a flight/knights jacket and that swordbelt/tool belt/gunbelt combo…. He has magic now, he’s alive and made the signal…There’s other temples here… He made it just to make them feel better because he’s that kind of King.**
